How to Defrost a Chest Freezer 

If you have discovered frost build up in your freezer that is over 1/4″ thick, defrosting and cleaning the interior is strongly recommended. To defrost your freezer, unplug the and empty out appliance and run a defrost cycle. Freezers without an automatic defrost feature should be defrosted and cleaned at least one time every year.
